Realms of Ice
A visit to Antarctica is not just a unique experience, but a life altering assault on the senses. Nothing you read, nor the astonishing images that have been made in this place, quite prepare you for your first encounter with the most southerly continent in the world. Nearly one and a half times the size of Europe, it is challenging to offer more than a brief glimpse of a world largely devoid of human activity and characterised by the constant interaction between sea, ice, snow and some of the most extreme weather on Earth. Icy whiteness and turquoise pressure zones emphasise the world’s last true wilderness.
