History of Now
As much as I love being out in dramatic landscapes and pounding shorelines, or sailing a boat across quiet seas, I also relish the hustle and bustle of busy city streets. As a keen observer of life, I am endlessly fascinated by the behaviour of crowds and the interaction of people as they go about their lives. This collection of images is from another long-running project that aims to record our changing lives and the way we all adapt to these changes. The theme is prompted by my appreciation of historic archives of images - and the intriguing way these subtly reveal the ways in which life changes from year to year and decade to decade. This collection of images - all made over the last two years - aims to offer a sense of where we are today in 2024 - and perhaps how others may see us in the future when they look back to the first quarter of the 21st century.
