Brief Encounters
Most of my photographic work is the result of careful thought, prior research and a desire to explore various artistic ideas. But sometimes my images are the result of pure spontaneity - mostly brief encounters as I wander the landscape in search of wider projects. As a result, this collection of black and white images should be seen as the result of happy moments of serendipity. Others have written about the importance of having a camera with you at all times - much easier today in the age of the latest, RAW image-producing smartphones. Some photographers also write of chance favouring the prepared mind. I think this is often the case because the more you look, the more you are likely to see. I hope you will share my enjoyment of this collection of spontaneous images - my brief encounters with life.
