Reflection

I have always enjoyed the duality implied by the word ‘Reflection’: looking glass or looking back? This collection forms part of a continuing project which seeks to combine literal reflections with images of people daydreaming or otherwise absorbed in their thoughts. Everyday, we are surrounded by reflections of ourselves and of the world around us. For me, these are an extension of my enduring fascination bound up in ideas around surfaces, borders and boundaries. Others are of individuals caught up in their own worlds, pausing for moments of reflection. We can only guess at what is passing through these people’s minds as they take time out from their lives but I hope we can draw our own thoughts and ideas from their postures and the focus of their gaze.
